On March 3, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with executives, welcomed Mr. Kuroda Jun, Chairman of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok, together with Mr. To Kozo, Chairman of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok (JCC), and the executive team from the Japanese Chamber of Commerce to report on the results of a confidence index survey among Japanese businesspeople in Thailand for the second half of 2024 at the Passion meeting room (802) of FTI.
The Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok (JCC) reported the results of the confidence index survey for Japanese businesspeople in Thailand for the second half of 2024, which reflects a variety of trends in Japanese businesses in Thailand. Despite the overall economic confidence in Thailand remaining in the negative range due to sluggish consumer goods demand, exports are showing signs of recovery, leading some companies to plan to expand their investments in Thailand. The survey also identified potential export markets in the future, including India, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the United States.
Moreover, the survey highlighted key issues of interest to the Japanese business sector, including the minimum wage increase, competitiveness, and government policies. Thailand has shown improvements in infrastructure development, the use of digital technology in government, and addressing visa and work permit issues. The Japanese business sector continues to express cautious confidence in the Thai economy and reaffirms their commitment to invest in Thailand.
