เมื่อวันที่ 14 - 15 มกราคม 2568 นายอรินทร์ จิรา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เป็นผู้แทนเข้าร่วมประชุมสภาธุรกิจเอเชียตะวันออก (East Asia Business Council : EABC) ครั้งที่ 62 ซึ่งการประชุมดังกล่าวเป็นเวทีระดับภูมิภาคที่อำนวยความสะดวกในการเจรจาและความร่วมมือระหว่างผู้นำธุรกิจจากประเทศในอาเซียนและเอเชียตะวันออก (เกาหลีใต้ ญี่ปุ่น และจีน) เพื่อระดมความเห็นและให้ข้อเสนอแนะภาคเอกชนเกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการเจริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค โดยมุ่งเน้นสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมทางเศรษฐกิจที่เชื่อมโยง สร้างสรรค์ และยั่งยืนในภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออก ณ โรงแรม Eastern & Oriental เมืองปีนัง ประเทศมาเลเซีย
ในปี 2568 ภายใต้การเป็นประธาน EABC ของประเทศมาเลเซีย EABC ให้ความสำคัญกับประเด็นหลัก 3 ข้อ ได้แก่
1. การเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่ดิจิทัล (Digital Transformation) ส่งเสริมโครงสร้างพื้นฐานดิจิทัล (Digital Infrastructure) และการเชื่อมต่อ (Connectivity) เพื่อสนับสนุนการค้าและการลงทุนในภูมิภาค และสนับสนุนธุรกิจขนาดเล็กและขนาดกลาง (MSMEs) ให้เข้าถึงนวัตกรรม (Innovation) และแหล่งเงินทุน (Financing) เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน
2. การพัฒนาทุนมนุษย์ (Human Capital Development) ส่งเสริมการลงทุนพัฒนาทรัพยากรมนุษย์ โดยเน้นการพัฒนาทักษะ (Upskilling) ให้เหมาะสมกับเศรษฐกิจดิจิทัล (Digital Economy) และการเพิ่มผลิตภาพแรงงาน (Labor Productivity)
3. การบูรณาการเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค (Regional Economic Integration) ส่งเสริมการใช้ข้อตกลงการค้าเสรี (FTA) เช่น RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) เพื่อเสริมสร้างห่วงโซ่อุปทานที่มั่นคง (Resilient Supply Chains) และเชื่อมโยงเศรษฐกิจในภูมิภาค
On January 14 - 15, 2025, Mr. Arin Jira, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), served as a representative at the 62nd East Asia Business Council (EABC) meeting. This meeting provided a regional platform facilitating dialogue and cooperation among business leaders from ASEAN countries and East Asia (South Korea, Japan, and China), aimed at gathering opinions and offering recommendations from the private sector regarding economic collaboration and growth in the region. The focus is to create a connected, innovative, and sustainable economic environment in East Asia at the Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Penang, Malaysia.
In 2025, under Malaysia's chairmanship of EABC, three key issues are prioritized:
1. Digital Transformation, promoting Digital Infrastructure and Connectivity to enhance trade and investment in the region, and supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to access Innovation and Financing to increase competitiveness.
2. Human Capital Development, promoting investments in human resources with a focus on Upskilling to suit the Digital Economy and increase Labor Productivity.
3. Regional Economic Integration, promoting the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) such as RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) to strengthen Resilient Supply Chains and connect economies in the region.
