On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated as a speaker at Thailand Marketing Day 2024 "The Next Marketing Battle: Strategizing for the Modern Marketing Battlefield," organized by the Marketing Association of Thailand (MAT) at MINT Town Hall, Sam Yan MINT Town.
During the discussion, Mr. Kriangkrai presented his vision for accelerating the transformation of operators from traditional industries (First Industries) to future industries or the creation of new businesses (Next-gen Industries), including industries related to BCG, in preparation for the upcoming trend of sustainability. He noted that Thailand's food industry possesses strong potential, driving exports to over 100 billion baht annually, with projections for exports in 2025 potentially reaching 1.75 trillion baht from the previous year. This includes industries related to automotive, which are starting to adapt to electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing, reducing the production of automotive parts from 30,000 pieces per vehicle to only 2,000 pieces.
Therefore, FTI is pushing operators to focus on expanding production into new potential industries such as medical devices, agriculture, and defense industries, in order to maintain and enhance the competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector.
